Off-season clothing
Winter coats, summer dresses — what you only wear half the year does not need to hold a closet rail.
Clothes storage
Also called garment boxes. For keeping clothes on hangers for months — off-season, through renovations, or between campaigns — with no creases, no damp and nothing to buy again.

Storing is not moving: the box sits still for months, and that is where the material matters.

Renovation dust gets everywhere. A closed box keeps clothes clean until the work is done.
Hotels, restaurants and service teams: store last season’s uniforms without folding them.
Retailers and costume departments: keep a collection on hangers, ready to come out as it went in.
For a one-day move, cardboard is often enough. For six months in a basement, much less so.
Cardboard draws in basement damp and eventually warps. Corrugated plastic does not: it holds its shape and the contents stay dry.
A stack of cardboard eventually gives way at the bottom after a few months. Rigid walls hold the weight.
Rated for −25 °C: they do not turn brittle over winter, which matters when the storage space is unheated.
It folds flat when empty and comes back out the next year. Nothing to buy again.

As long as you need. Corrugated plastic does not absorb moisture and does not break down over time the way cardboard does, so a full season or several years is fine as long as the box stays closed.
